2013 Mazda 3 SKYACTIV Touring Edition *AJAC Award Winner* | West Coast Mazda Review & Road Test

The mazda3 SKYACTIV just won the AJAC (Automotive Journalist's Association of Canada) award for best new small car under $21,000. What this means is that all the men and women that drive cars and write about their pros and cons everyday for a living found that out of all the new small cars sold in Canada, this Mazda3 was the best. Now, this isn't an easy group to please, yet out of all the cars they compared the mazda3 to, They found the mazda3 to have the highest quality, the best visibility, the best driver position and ergonomics. They found the Mazda3 to have the best steering, handling and the most effective brakes. They also found the Mazda3 SKYACTIV to have the best throttle response, the best engine refinement and the best transmission. This is proof positive that getting the best fuel economy doesn't have come at the cost of having fun behind the wheel. So what's new for 2013? Well this touring edition we're driving today is new and borrows a lot of cool features from the GT model. Let's pull over here and have a look On the outside here you'll notice that stepping up to the mazda3 touring edition gets you this subtle but sporty rear lip spoiler and these stylish LED tail lights. One the handiest features you'll quickly become dependent on is the intelligent key system which allows for unlocking and starting the car without taking a key out of your pocket. Some of the other Premium features included with this touring edition include an auto dimming rear view mirror and dual zone climate control. My favourite feature of the touring edition though is right here. This a powerful 10 speaker BOSE audio system with Centerpoint surround sound which delivers a multi-channel surround sound experience from 2-channel sources and also has Audio Pilot noise compensation technology which detects and measures ambient sound and actually distinguishes between music and unwanted noise. As with every Mazda, safety is standard. The Mazda3 is an IIHS top safety pick and has advanced dual front airbags, dual front side air bags and dual side air curtains. and just to make sure you are the only one having fun behind the wheel, Engine immobilizer and anti-theft alarm are also standard. So there you have it. A whole host of premium features and technology in a small car that rewards the driver with the best in performance and the best in fuel economy. There's zero compromise here in the 2013 Mazda3 and there's zero complication in buying your new Mazda at west Coast Mazda.

Until next time,
