SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT FRONT
SCBS-F detects objects ahead at low speeds and prepares your CX-5 to stop
by adjusting the brake pads closer to the disc. If you don’t apply the
brakes in time, the system automatically does it for you.

The 2026 CX-5 is expected to go on sale in early 2026.
What has changed about the Mazda CX-5 compared to the previous generation?
The 2026 CX-5 showcases the latest evolution of Kodo: “Soul of Motion” design, with a more modern stance. An additional 4.5 inches provides increased rear leg, knee and headroom, along with a notably larger cargo space.
The new CX-5 also offers an available 15.6-inch integrated centre touchscreen – the largest ever in a Mazda – with Google built-in and enhanced connectivity features. A redesigned cabin minimizes physical buttons, shifting key controls to intuitive app-based interfaces, touchscreen inputs and steering-wheel controls for a more seamless experience.
What engine and powertrain options will be available for the 2026 Mazda CX-5?
The 2026 CX-5 will launch with Mazda’s Skyactiv-G 2.5 four-cylinder engine, which produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6‑speed automatic transmission and standard i‑Activ AWD.
Does the new Mazda CX-5 come in a hybrid version?
A Mazda Hybrid powertrain is confirmed and will launch in 2027.
What safety/driver‑assistance features will the new Mazda CX-5 offer?
The new CX‑5 includes an enhanced suite of i-Activsense advanced driver assistance features, and several new enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance System features.
For the first time across any Mazda model, Smart Brake Support Rear, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Turning Across Path are standard on all trims.
The CX-5 also introduces Emergency Lane Keeping, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition5 and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with speed limit assist as standard equipment.
New available features include Lane Change Assist6 and an improved 360° View Monitor.6
